This beautiful village is named after the Kyrgyz poet and writer Joomart Bokonbaev, who praised his native lands in his works.

Bokonbaevo is not only the administrative center of the Ton district (in Kyrgyzstan there are 7 region, and each region has several districts), it is also the center of ecological and national tourism. No tour around Issyk-Kul is complete without this unique village. And why? Because the best golden eagles of the country live here and it is in their honor that the annual bird hunting festivals are organized. This distinctive art is inherited from grandfather to son and grandson, and old-timers remember many hereditary names - keepers of ancient Kyrgyz art.

The Berkutchi show will not be missed by any tourist, guest or traveler in Kyrgyzstan, it is here that people come for the spectacle to plunge into the real atmosphere of ancient nomads, see everything with their own eyes, feel the national spirit of the descendants of the Kyrgyz hero Manas. And the show begins- the elderly and young eagle hunters bring their pets- beautiful golden eagles, graceful, proud birds to the performance. They are carried far away, to the peaks of the mountains, and they fly from the heights of heaven and they land on the hunter's hand, which is put in a specially sewn thick leather glove, so that the predator's claws do not pierce into the soft human flesh. And you can take a picture as a souvenir, if you are not afraid of the sharp-eyed golden eagle. You will also be given the opportunity to transform into a medieval archer for a while. Sometimes national competitions and nomad games are organized here, in which guests of the country can also take part or be a spectator.

Bokonbaevo is rich in folk talents, artisans, craftsmen and musicians. In this place, you can listen to performances by folk groups, see national dances, and look at Kyrgyz costumes of women and men. Here they will tell, show, and perform the most popular songs and dances in Kyrgyz.

In this village, there are special workshops for tourists on working with felt carpets, and all the finished products that were made by hand, you can take home as a souvenir. And tourists turn into children, lovingly "painting" with felt, creating small woolen products - rugs. And if you want to learn how to cook national dishes, then this can also be organized by local craftsmen.
