Chychkan gorge
Information about Chychkan gorge in Kyrgyzstan
Chychkan gorge and river
Leaving the picturesque Suusamyr valley, we drive up to another beautiful Ala-Bel pass, which is the middle place connecting Suusamyr and the Chychkan gorge. Translated from Kyrgyz, Chychkan means mouse. Maybe it was named that way because there are many field mice in this territory, maybe for some other reason, but with such a banal name, such a wonderful gorge somehow does not go together.

The incredible beauty of the gorge attracts all lovers of outdoor activities, it's not just a heavenly place, it's a place that you can't just drive through- you stop here for a rest, because I would like to sit by the shore of the stormy river with the same name, admire the mountain peaks, valley, glades of flowers, a variety of trees, breathe in the clean, intoxicating air and wander along the well-trodden and untrodden paths of the coniferous forest.

There are spontaneous points along the gorge where nature's gifts are sold: in spring - wild sourdough, at any time of the year - honey, harvested from the fertile valleys of the gorge; sour-milk products - kurut, ayran, kaymak; sea buckthorn, currants, blackberries and so much more, which these places are rich in.
Mountains in Chychkan gorge and the forest along the river
There are a lot of beautifully decorated cafes, hotels, guest houses, and recreation complexes located in the gorge by the shore of a mountain river, next to a coniferous forest. There are many fishing farms here and you can taste freshly cooked fried fish, fish soup, baked fish dishes. There is no shortage of people who want to try the dishes here, places are booked in advance.

There is a nature reserve in the gorge, wild boars, mountain goats, argali, roe deer live on a huge territory, rare bird species nest, and an eagle, golden eagle, and falcon can be seen soaring in the sky.

The Chychkan gorge always attracts climbers, tourists, water sports enthusiasts, and just anyone who wants to walk through the picturesque mountains and see wild thickets of sea buckthorn, barberry, and blackberry; wander through the fragrant forests of Tien Shan firs, juniper, creeping juniper; among wild shrubs, many field, meadow plants and flowers; climb the peaks of the mountains and admire the valley of the picturesque gorge from a height.
