Naryn river
Information about Naryn - the biggest river in Kyrgyzstan
Sometimes Naryn river is that large, so it looks like a lake
The source of the Naryn River originates in the glaciers of the Central Tien Shan as a result of the confluence of two rivers - the Small and Big Naryn, forming a single river – Naryn, with a length of more than 800 km, passing through Uzbekistan, where it merges with the Karadarya River to form the Syrdarya. On the territory of Kyrgyzstan, the 535 km long river runs through three regions - Issyk-Kul, Naryn, and Jalal-Abad. In some places, the width of the river reaches up to 40 meters. The river flows through intermountain valleys and through narrow canyons and gorges, widening and narrowing in wild places among forests and between spurs, winding in the gorges, skirting the slopes of various mountain ranges.
Water in the river changes its color depending on the sunlight
In 1857 the great traveler P. Semenov-Tien Shansky and the outstanding Kazakh scientist Chokan Valikhanov wrote about the Naryn River in their works, describing the features of the Naryn River.
Naryn is of great economic importance for the Central Asian region, several large hydroelectric power plants have been built on it, and the water is used for irrigation and agricultural needs of the population of the two republics.

Naryn is powerful and exciting, and it has a huge resource of energy reserves. The color of the river is unrealistically artistic, rich turquoise. In some places, avid fishermen catch fish. In other places, it is possible to even swim in this lake, where the landscapes have formed small bay. However, one should be very careful, as this river seems to be calm on the surface, but has a very fast stream underneath and can be very dangerous.
